About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead development of CuspAI’s R&D supply chain across EMEA
- Secure high-value compute agreements and establish data-sharing partnerships with publishers, experimental labs, and academic institutions
- Negotiate and manage strategic relationships with major compute providers
- Monitor and optimise compute usage agreements in alignment with the technical roadmap and budget
- Identify, negotiate, and close partnerships with academic institutions and research labs
- Secure access to experimental data and specialised facilities
- Manage relationships with scientific publishers for data ingestion and collaborative research opportunities
- Navigate IP and technology transfer in research environments
- Identify relevant grant opportunities with the research team
- Lead the commercial and partnership aspects of grant applications
- Cultivate relationships with funding bodies and consortium stakeholders
- Work with the Head of Partnerships and leadership team to align partnership priorities with company milestones
- Partner with AI Researchers and Chemists to understand technical requirements for data and compute
- Liaise with Legal and Finance to ensure partnership agreements are robust, compliant, and scalable
- Travel regularly to partner sites and other locations for collaboration and project work
Requirements
What you’ll need- Relevant experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or technology transfer, preferably within a deep-tech or high-growth AI environment
- Extensive experience directly managing cloud provider agreements
- Strong technical background with a degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Life Sciences, or a related field
- Exposure to AI Agents, MCP (Model Context Protocol) interfaces, or related experience
- Expert communication skills and ability to translate scientific goals into commercial proposals
- Ability to work autonomously in an early-stage environment and build partnership frameworks from scratch
- Proven track record navigating complex negotiations with universities and/or global publishers is a bonus
- Existing networks within the EMEA research ecosystem, particularly technology transfer offices at major UK and European universities, are a bonus
- Familiarity with the European grant landscape, such as Horizon Europe and Innovate UK, is a bonus
- Experimental chemistry and laboratory experience is a bonus
- Existing right to work or visa eligibility for applicable office locations
