About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Oversee and prepare month-end journal entries, including revenue recognition, accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, and payroll-related entries
  • Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for cybersecurity product resale and Professional Services revenue
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation
  • Maintain general ledger integrity and compliance with GAAP and company policies
  • Prepare, review, and deliver financial statements and management reporting
  • Analyze financial results and provide insights to the CFO and leadership team
  • Lead Budget vs. Actual reviews and explain significant variances
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including vendor payments, invoicing, cash application, collections, and reconciliations
  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of two accounting professionals
  • Establish priorities, processes, and performance expectations across accounting
  • Partner with Sales, Professional Services, Operations, People Services, Marketing, and other departments
  • Provide the CFO with insight into accounting matters, financial risks, business trends, and operational issues
  • Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and processes
  • Coordinate with external auditors and maintain audit-ready records
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, efficiency, and scalability

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Seven or more years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a Controller or comparable accounting leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and full-cycle accounting
  • Experience leading monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
  • Experience managing or providing oversight of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and related accounting functions
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar financial analysis tools
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing accounting professionals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial leaders
  • Experience within technology, cybersecurity, a value-added reseller (VAR), distribution, Professional Services, or a project-based services environment
  • Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP platform
  • Experience managing accounting operations with multiple revenue streams, including product and services revenue
  • CPA preferred
  • Must currently reside in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and be able to commute to the Plano office
  • Occasional travel, evening, or weekend work may be required based on business needs
