About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment used in various industries
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform inspections
- Complete repairs or part replacements at client sites
- Consult with the Service Supervisor to plan work and travel schedules based on customer needs, machine location, and parts availability
- Diagnose malfunctions, repair or replace worn and defective parts, install new assemblies, and adjust devices and controls
- Provide tools and parts and arrange facilities for repair work, usually on customer premises
- Inspect, operate, and test machines upon delivery, at inspection intervals, and after repairs
- Report customer, machine, malfunction, work-time, travel-time, waiting-time, and mileage information to the Service Supervisor for billing
- Develop technical skills through company-sponsored vocational schools, annual training meetings, and technical literature
- Maintain a neat personal appearance and a clean, polished, orderly service truck
- Troubleshoot recurring or unusual problems in collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, and service personnel
- Train new servicemen or supervise teams on large-unit assembly, servicing, and repair jobs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience working on heavy equipment or generators preferred
- Experience working with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic equipment
- 2+ years of field service experience preferred
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, MVR and physical
- Experience working with customers
