About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze, investigate, and make decisions on retail and lease applications, including Canadian credit portfolio applications
- Communicate credit decisions to dealers by phone and through eCredit Pro in English and French as required
- Negotiate conditioned approvals and alternative structures with dealers
- Build positive working relationships with assigned dealers and regions, including Canadian dealer partners
- Provide courteous, consultative, and timely customer service to dealers in English and French where applicable
- Work with District Finance Managers on buying strategies for assigned dealerships to achieve appropriate credit risk and return
- Support District Finance Managers in communicating the Daimler Truck Financial Services value proposition
- Validate application information and collect additional data
- Collaborate with the discounting team to resolve funding discrepancies while ensuring compliance with U.S. and Canadian credit policies and procedures
- Work first-payment defaults and follow up with customers coming off extensions
- Act as a liaison between collections and dealers
- Travel to assigned dealerships to review business performance with District Finance Managers (5%)
- Identify opportunities for process enhancement, automation, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency within U.S. and Canadian credit operations
- Develop, evaluate, and enhance general business processes to improve operational effectiveness
- Create business requirements, functional specifications, process maps, and gap analyses
- Plan and implement quality assurance and compliance processes
- Assist with training or change-management materials for new or updated procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS/BA and preferably 0–2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- 1 year hands-on experience with credit analysis and underwriting
- 1 year of experience in Finance, Truck Discounting, Truck Remarketing, Fleet Services, Collections, or Customer Service
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to communicate effectively with dealers, customers, and business partners in both English and French
- Fluency in both English and French, written and verbal, may be expected for exceptional candidates
- Previous experience supporting a Canadian credit portfolio or bilingual customer-facing environment may be beneficial
- Experience with credit underwriting, risk management, or commercial and retail lending processes across multiple markets may be beneficial
- Knowledge of Canadian credit policies, lending regulations, and dealer/customer support requirements may be beneficial
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country of posting
- Final candidate must successfully complete a criminal background check
