About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate, review, and implement Engineering Calculation Factors (ECF) used to develop, maintain, and enhance Sales Application and Engineering configuration programs
  • Diagnose issues pertaining to vehicle configuration, component placement, and calculated values
  • Provide technical and analytical support to CAE and Engineering, including driving IT system updates as needed
  • Manage assigned calculation projects, ensuring accuracy, quality, and desired outcomes
  • Lead cross-functional teams in implementing new engineering designs and guidelines
  • Work with Design and Liaison Engineering to resolve manufacturing issues identified primarily via Shop Calls
  • Perform root cause analysis and ensure the backlog is updated in the resolution process
  • Identify Calc and ECF requirements early in the PAR cycle and support new development related to those PARs
  • Understand Compliance and Regulatory requirements and related calculations and programs
  • Provide training for engineers and peers as needed
  • Maintain and develop documentation of programs and procedures
  • Collaborate with IT, CAE, Compliance, and PE and VLE engineering groups
  • Lead minor to medium sized projects and serve as a PAR representative for the Engineering Operations department

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience, or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Engineering and/or IT experience a plus
  • Truck product knowledge required
  • Working knowledge of IMACS required; IMACS+ a plus
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Ability to evaluate alternatives and communicate tradeoffs in a clear, fact-based manner
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a constantly evolving workflow
  • Excellent writing, reporting, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams required
  • Self-driven attitude to learn across new and varied topics
  • Ability to resolve issues quickly across organizational boundaries and to work with people at all levels
  • Willingness to adopt AI tools, including LibreChat and Copilot, in daily work
  • Final candidate must successfully complete a criminal background check
  • Final candidate may be required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country the position is located in at the time of application
  • Exceptional candidates might have a Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in Engineering, Computer Science, or STEM related field
  • Experience in Engineering and/or IT
  • Strong knowledge of Engineering IMACS screens, e.g. EC, VS, PD, DE, CS
  • Familiarity with CAD/VIVA tools
  • Experience with DTNA’s implementation processes, e.g. EWRs, FALs, Quality Gates
  • Experience gathering requirements and collaborating with stakeholders and IT to define and deliver system improvements
  • Project management experience and the ability to work independently
