About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Detroit Powertrain Engineering organization in the Functional Vehicle Testing Team
  • Build, instrument, and maintain a fleet of functional test vehicles
  • Execute test requests for powertrain development engineering teams
  • Analyze data, draw conclusions, and provide technical-result recommendations to management
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand, execute, and draw conclusions from vehicle tests
  • Improve procedural efficiencies through continuous improvement activities incorporating AI
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues on functional test vehicles
  • Lead and support efforts to foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program or higher from an accredited college/university OR have recently graduated within 1 year of the position start date (May/June)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Creative mindset
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States at the time of application
  • Position is not open to visa sponsorship or existing visa holders
  • Final candidate must successfully complete a criminal background check
  • Final candidate may be required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen
  • Some summer testing travel may be required
