About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide strategic leadership in developing and executing short- and long-term sales strategies
  • Oversee preparation, presentation, and execution of sales proposals requiring Transaction Council approval
  • Deliver data-driven recommendations to the CEO, CFO, and Senior Vice President of Sales
  • Lead support for regional sales transactions, including pricing strategy recommendations, concession discount approvals, and sales and financial analysis
  • Direct order acquisition activities for Heavy Duty and Medium Duty products across dealer and direct sales transactions
  • Manage retail pricing for base models and options across Freightliner and Western Star products
  • Serve as a voting member of the Pricing Committee representing Sales
  • Ensure sales transactions are accurately calculated, authorized, and documented
  • Collaborate with sales leadership, field sales teams, and controlling to review and approve pricing proposals
  • Engage with DTR, Marketing, CAE, Purchasing, and Controlling on market trends and deal dynamics
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives using advanced analytics, AI-driven insights, and pricing technology solutions
  • Coach and develop direct reports
  • Champion a culture of performance, inclusion, and results-driven leadership
  • Oversee the Sales Proposal Workflow process
  • Lead teams responsible for retail pricing, data book pricing, strategic option pricing, non-strategic option pricing, and pricing business intelligence
  • Drive development and implementation of DTNA’s Pricing/Quoting Tool

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university and 10+ years of related experience required
  • Proven experience in people management, with a strong track record of developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Passion for developing and mentoring high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a positive, high-trust culture that promotes employee engagement and collaboration
  • Customer-focused mindset with a strong drive to achieve results and win in competitive environments
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, manage multiple competing priorities, and make sound decisions quickly
