About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, implement, roll out, and continuously improve preventive software quality, cybersecurity, and functional safety cultures across the development process
  • Identify weak points, threats, and hazards with system and component owners
  • Implement and validate measures to minimize product risks
  • Collaborate with global counterparts to refine and implement global processes
  • Ensure related work products represent all Daimler Truck brands
  • Lead and influence across organizations and regions to ensure adherence to quality, functional safety, and cybersecurity principles
  • Participate actively in the global Software Safety, Quality and Security organization
  • Implement and roll out Software Quality and Safety (SQS) processes in the NAFTA region
  • Lead global processes and work products across teams
  • Develop and lead local software quality engineers, cybersecurity architects, and functional safety engineers
  • Work with commercial truck system and component owners throughout the development cycle
  • Develop, collect, and monitor quality requirements, quality KPIs, and status reports for in-house software development
  • Strengthen collaboration among Quality Management, Development, Procurement, and Supplier Management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field with 8 years of commercial vehicle experience, required
  • Five years of experience working in quality, functional safety and/or cyber security disciplines
  • Expert knowledge of ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and ISO 21434 (Cyber Security)
  • Detailed knowledge of commercial vehicle systems
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 20% of the time
  • Prior experience building and leading a high-performance team, including project teams
  • Experience in leading electrical and electronics projects for commercial vehicle electrical architectures
  • Experience managing global projects and teams
  • Experience in system analysis and evaluation
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving abilities
  • An attached resume is required
  • Final candidate must successfully complete a criminal background check
  • Final candidate may be required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen
  • Must meet applicable U.S. visa sponsorship eligibility requirements if sponsorship is needed
