About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support investigations into emerging and systemic product issues to determine root causes and drive effective corrective actions
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Supplier Management, Compliance, Field Staff, and Aftersales functions to resolve complex product problems
  • Analyze product performance data and guide troubleshooting efforts
  • Initiate and coordinate field actions
  • Prepare materials for quality and safety review committees
  • Amplify the voice of the customer to support customer uptime and product quality
  • Analyze and investigate root causes of product failures through failure analysis and troubleshooting
  • Guide customers on correct repair procedures
  • Investigate and prioritize emerging product issues
  • Use statistical applications to analyze product issue data and determine the scope and severity of problems
  • Support cross-functional meetings and investigations and implement improvements
  • Support field actions through Service Solutions, Technical Service Bulletins, Campaigns, Recalls, or Customer Advisory letters
  • Communicate immediate field actions to dealer technicians using DTNA Solutions
  • Write Literature requests for bulletins and technical manual changes
  • Analyze financial benefits to determine whether field campaigns or bulletins are appropriate
  • Provide technical support to Field Staff, Field Sales Engineering, Daimler Truck Technical Support, TechMod, and others
  • Coordinate travel with field service staff, customers, and internal business partners to troubleshoot and diagnose product problems
  • Support an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program or higher or recently graduated within 1 year of the position start date
  • Pursuing a degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Uses analytical thought and skill to independently solve complex problems with minimal guidance, identify solutions and drive production/field resolution
  • Customer orientated with the drive to develop customer-focused solutions
  • Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Creative mindset
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Working knowledge internal combustion engine operation including mechanical, electronic and software controls
  • Knowledge and/or experience in Automotive or Trucking
  • Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country the position is located in at the time of application
  • Final candidate must successfully complete a criminal background check
  • Final candidate may be required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen
