About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead regional feature development for Active Lane Assist and Lane Departure Warning
- Serve as the local responsible engineer for system interfaces with the steering wheel and steering systems, including automated steering and steer by brake
- Work cross-functionally with the global development team and local DTNA teams to create regional requirements and support development and validation
- Manage high-profile global ADAS features for the North American market
- Lead local interface and integration of active safety features with steering systems
- Interface with product strategy, embedded software developers, product validation, and aftermarket field service stakeholders
- Gather and specify software requirements for DTNA
- Act as local feature owner, accountable for development progress and issue management
- Serve as local feature expert
- Manage vehicle configuration for all North American vehicle platforms
- Support validation activities and analyze field-test, functional-test, reliability-growth, and customer-test data to generate ADAS performance metrics and resolve defects
- Model and analyze ADAS system performance across varied vehicle platforms using internal and external resources
- Communicate with involved personnel to identify problems and create solutions
- Participate in regulatory and compliance activities relating to driver assistance and safety systems
- Apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development lifecycle
- Ensure compliance with environmental, motor vehicle, and other regulations
- Monitor state-of-the-art developments in the commercial vehicle industry and apply knowledge to new designs
- Mentor and develop junior engineers
