About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive commodity strategy management and strategic sourcing initiatives aligned with business partner objectives
  • Develop understanding of critical commodities, market conditions, industry trends, processes, suppliers, and cost drivers to develop and document commodity strategies
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and align procurement strategies with organizational goals
  • Support broader supplier rationalization efforts across the organization
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers while maintaining relationships with existing suppliers
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions
  • Negotiate long-term programs for DTNA, including supplier commitments for production pricing
  • Support and monitor results reporting through global business systems
  • Implement best practices in procurement, supplier relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Enhance procurement processes and efficiency
  • Mentor new and other buyers
  • Prepare presentations and present to senior leadership
  • Manage the strategic procurement of the Collision Components commodity set
  • Create commodity strategies with key suppliers and internal partners
  • Manage the life cycle of a part through remanufacturing opportunities
  • Support the growth and revenue objectives of the Aftermarket and Specialty Vehicles Organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS/BSE level degree in business, supply and logistics, finance, economics, engineering, materials science or related technical discipline and prefer 5-7 years of relevant experience OR 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Previous work experience in commodity management, procurement, contracting, materials management, logistics, manufacturing, quality, account management
  • Ability to take charge and lead tasks to completion
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to evaluate and select suppliers using analytical tools
  • Experience with contracts, cost structures as well as business and economic issues
  • Supplier negotiation experience
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects
  • Ability to prioritize and allocate resources to align with department and company goals
  • Proven track record to deliver results and achieve goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to create strong working relationships
  • Must be flexible to work extended hours to support the requirements of the business
  • Proficient with all applications within Microsoft Office
  • Fluent in English both written and verbal
