About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive commodity strategy management and strategic sourcing initiatives aligned with business partner objectives
  • Develop and document commodity strategies based on market conditions, industry trends, processes, suppliers, and cost drivers
  • Manage strategic procurement for the Collision Components commodity set within the Aftermarket and Specialty Vehicles Purchasing team
  • Work closely with key suppliers and internal partners to ensure cross-functional prioritization and alignment
  • Support growth and revenue objectives of the Aftermarket and Specialty Vehicles Organization
  • Manage the life cycle of parts, including remanufacturing opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and align procurement strategies with organizational goals
  • Support supplier rationalization efforts across the organization
  • Identify, evaluate, onboard, and maintain relationships with suppliers
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, conditions, and long-term supplier programs
  • Negotiate supplier commitments for production pricing
  • Support and monitor results reporting through global business systems
  • Implement procurement, supplier relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration best practices
  • Enhance procurement processes and efficiency
  • Mentor new and other buyers
  • Prepare presentations and present to senior leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS/BSE level degree in business, supply and logistics, finance, economics, engineering, materials science or related technical discipline and preferably 5–7 years of relevant experience, OR 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Previous work experience in commodity management, procurement, contracting, materials management, logistics, manufacturing, quality, or account management
  • Ability to take charge and lead tasks to completion
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to evaluate and select suppliers using analytical tools
  • Experience with contracts, cost structures, and business and economic issues
  • Supplier negotiation experience
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects
  • Ability to prioritize and allocate resources to align with department and company goals
  • Proven track record to deliver results and achieve goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to create strong working relationships
  • Must be flexible to work extended hours to support business requirements
  • Proficient with all applications within Microsoft Office
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal
