About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Negotiate or renew supplier agreements for critical materials, parts, components, tooling, or services for DTNA production, including Tubing, Hose, and Belts
- Negotiate long-term programs covering supplier production pricing, payment terms, and other conditions
- Manage supplier relationships, including long-term strategic partners
- Work with suppliers to achieve DTNA cost goals for total supplier-driven costs
- Negotiate long-term supplier agreements targeting 90% AVoB coverage
- Negotiate exclusive products and services for DTNA
- Develop long-term global and regional commodity strategies and coordinate strategies globally
- Evaluate alternative materials, methods, technologies, and suppliers to support DTNA’s VA/VE goals
- Support and monitor results reporting through global business systems
- Lead assigned projects
- Mentor team members and operational support staff
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years work experience in Procurement or Supply Chain related areas
- Ability to communicate complex issues across groups and levels
- Ability to take charge and lead tasks to completion
- Intermediate Microsoft Office experience
- Experience evaluating and selecting suppliers using analytical tools
- Self-starter accustomed to working independently and meeting deadlines with attention to detail
- Experience identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems
- Master’s Degree or BS degree in supply chain may be advantageous
- Experience with Daimler Trucks procurement processes and tools or knowledge of supplier landscape, materials, and manufacturing technologies
- Experience working with international teams
- Experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve productivity, efficiency, or business outcomes
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States at the time of application, except current Daimler Truck North America employees working under an existing U.S. Daimler Truck North America Visa
- Final candidate must successfully complete a criminal background check
- Final candidate may be required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen
