About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Improve suppliers’ overall quality and delivery performance to DTNA through performance-based management
  • Develop the supply base to ensure best overall cost, quality, manufacturability, and operational self-reliance
  • Work with suppliers to develop project schedules supporting vehicle milestone objectives and KPIs
  • Establish manufacturing processes covering critical characteristics and parameter controls across tooling, equipment, process capacity, capability, quality, throughput, and human development
  • Collaborate with Product Strategy and Operations Planning on the Long-Range Production Plan and supplier volume/mix capability
  • Perform trigger-based supplier assessments, communicate results, and develop performance improvement plans
  • Lead supplier problem-solving activities and review and approve permanent corrective actions
  • Perform run-at-rate activities to verify supplier capacity
  • Lead escalation processes for poor-performing suppliers
  • Collaborate with procurement on supplier quality and delivery performance and support the awarding process
  • Collaborate with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing to determine performance specifications and supplier metrics
  • Lead projects and continuously drive improvement across the supply base
  • Maintain and communicate supplier and project KPI status internally and externally
  • Identify process waste and develop elimination plans with suppliers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or similar technical field
  • 4+ years of supplier management, procurement, supply chain, or changeover experience
  • 4+ years of supplier quality experience, including quality system audit, PPAP, root cause and corrective actions at the supplier, statistical process control, and capacity management verification by run at rate
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, shop floor management, or leadership role
  • Process knowledge in tooling, die and sand cast, forgings, stamping, welding, injection mold, machining, heat treatment, electronics soldering, sewing, cab and chassis components, or mechatronics
  • Materials expertise in aluminum, iron, steel, resins, paint, and rubber
  • Expertise in reading drawings/prints, including ability to discuss basic GD&T
  • Structured problem solving, project management experience, and negotiations
  • Understanding of value stream and Lean principles, identifying process waste, and eliminating it
  • Manufacturing, quality, or engineering experience developing commodities/products across interior, exterior, electrical/electronics, chassis, powertrain, or body and assembly components
  • Capabilities with MS365
  • Executive presentation skills
  • Ability to travel up to 75%, including international travel, primarily in North America
  • An attached resume is required
