About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as subject-matter expert on FMCSA, DOT, IRP/IFTA, HOS/ELD, and customs regulations
  • Provide enterprise-level DOT compliance oversight and enforcement support
  • Manage commercial vehicle licensing and registration programs
  • Support DOT regulatory reporting, including OSCAR, IRP, EPA, UCR, and FHVUT
  • Submit vehicle tax filing information and EPA reports with the Tax Department
  • Support ODOT Weight Mile tax audits
  • Lead regulatory and compliance audits, including corrective action tracking
  • Own commercial vehicle, trailer, and pool vehicle operations, including key control, location tracking, transport requests, violations, and usage approvals
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance, repairs, recalls, and service campaigns
  • Analyze vehicle utilization, lifecycle metrics, service scheduling, and asset locations using fleet management systems
  • Govern pool vehicle operations and violation mitigation
  • Lead Commercial Vehicle Advisory Board meetings and follow-up actions
  • Design and improve CMV driver training programs for CDL drivers
  • Oversee HOS/ELD enforcement, administration, monitoring, training, and issue resolution
  • Provide leadership oversight for Driver Evaluation Requests and Reports
  • Lead or support accident investigations, root-cause analysis, claims, vendor recovery, and regulatory documentation
  • Govern the fuel card program
  • Liaise across vehicle manufacturing, procurement, utilization, and disposal activities
  • Lead vehicle turn-ins and reassignments, including inspections, repairs, recalls, destruction approvals, and donations
  • Maintain SharePoint platforms and compliance repositories
  • Manage vehicle donation programs for Diesel Technician and Engineering training
  • Review invoices, asset documentation, BancPay transactions, billing, journal entries, and cost allocations
  • Mentor direct reports and serve as an escalation resource
  • Support vehicle detailing and preparation for audits, testing, demonstrations, and executive events
  • Travel periodically for vehicle events, regulatory audits, testing initiatives, and critical operational needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business, Engineering or a related field with 5–7 years of relevant professional experience, OR eight (8) years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree
  • Two (2) years of supervisory or team lead experience
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic work environment
  • Experience using professional judgment and analytical thinking to meet customer requirements while maintaining operational and regulatory compliance
  • Experience developing cross-functional solutions and proactively addressing operational gaps
  • Ability to collaborate across teams
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documenting, analyzing, and communicating findings and recommendations
  • Experience managing operational expenses and third-party vendor contracts
  • Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance requirements, commercial vehicle compliance, and driver safety regulations and best practices is advantageous
  • Experience with structured problem-solving tools, process documentation, continuous improvement methods, fleet management tools or systems, and fleet management metrics is advantageous
  • Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check
  • May be required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen
