About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide high-quality and prompt xGen hybridization and amplicon custom panel designs during the pre-sales process
Provide technical product support to customers through presentations, conference calls, and email-based support
Support IDT service departments and Sales teams through consultation or escalation of product questions, customer issues, and technical inquiries
Document all incoming and outgoing customer interactions in IDT’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database
Provide backup design and analysis support for collaborative projects, strategic partners, and NGS applications development
Support customers, Sales, and internal teams with expert technical support and custom NGS panel design throughout the pre-sales process
Report to the Scientific Applications Support Manager - NGS as part of the NGS Design group

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biology, Chemistry, or Bioinformatics
Deep expertise in NGS applications
More than 3 years in the genomics industry preferred
Experience designing custom capture panels for target enrichment
More than 1 year of experience designing custom capture panels preferred
Effective written and verbal communication skills with messages appropriately tailored to the audience
Ability to understand and articulate complex scientific, interpersonal, regulatory, and business issues
Customer support or customer-facing experience is a plus
Advanced theoretical knowledge, practical experience, and troubleshooting experience in NGS library preparation and targeted resequencing workflows is a plus
NGS bioinformatics algorithms/software experience is a plus
Extensive Python and Galaxy experience preferred
