About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage significant litigation, arbitration, government investigations, regulatory inquiries, and enforcement matters in the United States and internationally
- Provide practical, risk-based legal advice to senior legal and business leaders on complex disputes, investigations, enforcement exposure, and reputational risk
- Prepare litigation and enforcement risk assessments independently
- Develop, recommend, and execute legal strategies protecting Danaher’s interests and supporting strategic objectives
- Manage responses to subpoenas, civil investigative demands, requests for information, and other government submissions
- Represent Danaher in interactions with government enforcement and regulatory authorities or direct outside counsel in those interactions
- Direct and oversee outside counsel, experts, and service providers
- Use technology, analytics, and artificial intelligence to improve litigation strategy, workflow efficiency, forecasting accuracy, and matter outcomes
- Monitor relevant legal trends and developments and promote learning and continuous improvement for the Danaher legal organization
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 15 years of relevant legal experience, including substantial experience handling complex litigation, government investigations, internal investigations, and regulatory matters
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with at least one state bar
- Experience in a leading law firm, government enforcement agency, prosecutor’s office, or comparable role
- 25–30% travel
- Experience in the life sciences, healthcare, medical technology, or another highly regulated industry is preferred
- Prior in-house legal experience at a global public company is a plus but not a requirement
