About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and drive the enterprise Data Governance architecture and strategy
- Partner with business, technology, and functional leaders
- Deliver enterprise-scale standards, policies, processes, and operating models for effective data management across Danaher
- Design governance capabilities covering Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Cataloguing, Data Lineage, Master Data Management, Data Classification, and Data Privacy
- Define and maintain data ownership, stewardship, accountability, and decision-making models
- Develop and maintain the target-state Data Governance and Data Management architecture aligned with Enterprise Architecture
- Define standards for data domains, critical data elements, business glossaries, data models, data products, and data flows
- Embed Data Governance requirements into data platforms, applications, analytics solutions, and transformation initiatives
- Report to the Senior Director, Data Engineering as part of the Enterprise Data Platform organization
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of experience in Data Management, Data Architecture, Data Governance, or a related field
- Strong understanding of Data Architecture and Data Management principles
- Experience defining Data Governance policies, standards, controls, and procedures
- Experience with one or more major cloud ecosystems, such as Azure, AWS, or Snowflake
- Hands-on knowledge of Data Governance, Data Lineage, Data Privacy and Data Security, Data Ownership and Stewardship
- Ability to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally as required
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance frameworks, such as GDPR or SOX, is a plus
- Experience with Data Governance / Metadata platforms such as Collibra, Microsoft Purview, Informatica, Alation, or Atlan is a plus
- Experience in life sciences, diagnostics, biotechnology, healthcare, or regulated industries is a plus
