About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and deliver strategic initiatives supporting Abcam’s global Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) and sustainability programmes
- Partner with stakeholders across functions and sites to strengthen organisational resilience and preparedness for business disruptions
- Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, governance frameworks, practical tools, and measurable outcomes
- Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the global BCMS
- Support functions and sites in identifying critical activities, dependencies, recovery requirements, and single points of failure
- Coordinate and monitor BCMS Playbook actions, including business continuity, crisis management, and recovery documentation
- Chair BCMS Steering Committee meetings
- Serve as the primary point of contact between Abcam and Danaher for business continuity priorities and activities
- Lead the development and execution of Abcam’s global sustainability strategy
- Drive environmental and sustainability initiatives to improve ESG performance, compliance, and long-term business resilience
- Lead the FM Global program through end-to-end project and stakeholder management
- Report to the Senior Director, Global EHS & Facilities and work collaboratively across global Abcam sites
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in business Continuity, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in business continuity, sustainability, environmental management, or related fields within a global organisation
- Working knowledge of ISO 22301, ISO 14001, and other relevant management system standards
- Ability to support implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement activities
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives, influencing stakeholders, and working independently within a global matrix environment across Abcam and Danaher
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, coordinate, monitor, and successfully deliver multiple projects and improvement initiatives
- Previous experience working within the life science sector and familiarity with a laboratory environment is a plus
