About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage sourcing for production, from initial requirements through the development of long-term supplier partnerships
Negotiate competitive terms, volume agreements, and contracts
Manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders
Translate internal stakeholder requirements into clear sourcing solutions
Continuously optimize the supplier base
Negotiate Kanban and consignment agreements with suppliers and maintain them in SAP
Optimize agreements with production planning regarding prices and replenishment lead times
Conduct supplier audits
Create and update volume contracts, including requests for quotation and price negotiations
Manage phase-in and phase-out processes, as well as final acceptance, last-time-buy, and ramp-up quantities
Coordinate initial sample approvals and delivery schedules
Transfer materials to approved suppliers
Support Commodity Managers with supplier changes and cost-reduction projects
Implement site-specific activities of the commodity strategy
Act as the first level of escalation for delivery delays and negotiate solutions in the event of supply shortages
Keep lead times up to date in SAP

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed commercial or technical vocational training, a relevant university degree, or an equivalent qualification
At least five years of relevant experience in operational or strategic procurement
Experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, and purchasing processes
Strong understanding of Kanban, consignment, and volume contracts
In-depth understanding of material planning, phase-in/phase-out processes, and ensuring supply continuity in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in SAP
Ability to maintain procurement data in a structured, accurate, and reliable manner
Good command of German and English
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Independent, structured, and solutions-oriented approach to work
Strong sense of accountability and consistent escalation management
