About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Make a high volume of outbound calls to customers regarding outstanding balances and payment commitments.
  • Conduct collection efforts with customers to obtain payment of outstanding balances and negotiate payment arrangements in accordance with established company guidelines.
  • Use active listening and problem-solving skills to understand customer concerns, clarify payment-related issues, and determine appropriate next steps.
  • Review payment details, account information, and customer inquiries using ERP and CRM systems.
  • Accurately and thoroughly document customer interactions, payment commitments, required follow-ups, and relevant account information.
  • Complete required follow-ups within the prescribed timelines regarding payment arrangements, customer commitments, and unresolved issues.
  • Escalate complex customer concerns, disputed information, or situations exceeding established guidelines to the appropriate internal contact.
  • Maintain a professional, confident, respectful, and solutions-oriented approach in all customer interactions.
  • Protect customer and company information by following established procedures, confidentiality requirements, and applicable policies.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Fluency in spoken and written French and English is required to communicate effectively with contacts across multiple Canadian provinces, including Quebec, as well as in the United States.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, performance-metrics-driven call centre is an asset.
  • Experience in high-volume accounts receivable collections, telemarketing, or a comparable role involving outbound calls.
  • Excellent active listening, problem-solving, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Energetic, resilient, and able to remain professional under pressure.
  • Motivated to achieve individual and team targets.
  • Receptive to coaching, feedback, and continuous improvement.
  • Able to adapt, as needed, to changes in processes, priorities, and systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including strong attention to detail and accurate note-taking.
