About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including drywall patching, painting, doors, locks, hardware, ceiling tiles, flooring, and fixtures
  • Complete minor electrical tasks and minor plumbing tasks within applicable licensing limits
  • Assemble, install, and repair furniture, shelving, signage, safety equipment, and wall-mounted items
  • Carry out preventative maintenance checklists and respond to work orders affecting plant uptime, safety, or building operations
  • Support site preparation, demolition, cleanup, and punch-list work for Autoclave, Wash line, Compactor, and boiler room projects
  • Work alongside general contractors, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and subcontractors to keep projects on schedule
  • Read basic drawings, work orders, and equipment specifications
  • Stage materials, tools, and equipment for onsite trades
  • Travel to multiple sites approximately 50% across assigned regions
  • Maintain flexibility for day shift and, when needed, 2nd shift coverage
  • Transport, maintain, and account for tools, materials, and equipment between job sites
  • Partner with Plant Managers, the General Contractor, and maintenance stakeholders to prioritize repairs
  • Provide progress, material, and site-condition updates to the Head of Infrastructure, Plant Manager, and General Contractor
  • Identify and escalate issues requiring licensed electricians, plumbers, or HVAC technicians
  • Minimize disruption to facility operations
  • Complete work in compliance with OSHA, local building codes, and internal safety standards
  • Follow lockout/tagout, ladder, fall-protection, and safe power-tool procedures
  • Stay within the scope permitted for unlicensed work and refer licensed-trade work to appropriate professionals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of general maintenance or facilities engineering experience in commercial, industrial, manufacturing, or multi-site facilities environments
  • Working skills across minor carpentry, drywall, painting, basic electrical, and basic plumbing
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic tools
  • Familiarity with capital construction or equipment installation projects preferred
  • Ability to read work orders, basic drawings, and technical specifications
  • Strong practical judgment and a solution-focused approach
  • Ability to travel up to 50% consistently, including priority regions (CA, TX, FL, GA)
  • Flexibility to support day shift and, where needed, 2nd shift coverage
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade-school or vocational training preferred
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing and ability to travel by air and ground
  • Ability to pass background check/drug screening as required
  • OSHA 10-Hour Safety Certification required
  • EPA 608 certification, aerial/scissor lift, or forklift training a plus
  • State or local handyman registration where required by jurisdiction
