About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of cyber threats, malware, and adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs)
  • Proactively hunt for emerging threats and identify new attack trends
  • Produce threat intelligence reports, blogs, and research publications
  • Develop data-driven methodologies to support threat hunting and intelligence production
  • Present research findings internally and externally, including at conferences and industry events
  • Develop and refine threat detections based on research outcomes
  • Use data visualisation and analytical techniques to support investigations and communicate findings
  • Collaborate with security researchers, analysts, and product teams to strengthen Darktrace's threat intelligence capabilities
  • Support high standards of integrity and accountability as part of governance and controls

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Background in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
  • Malware analysis and reverse engineering
  • Understanding of operating systems, networking concepts, system internals, and security fundamentals
  • Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or C/C++
  • Experience analysing structured and unstructured datasets to generate meaningful insights
  • Familiarity with malware analysis, threat intelligence, digital forensics, or reverse engineering techniques
  • Strong understanding of modern cyber threats, malware trends, and attacker methodologies
  • Desirable: Applying data science techniques to cybersecurity challenges
  • Desirable: Threat intelligence, detection engineering, or security analytics
  • Desirable: Knowledge of query languages and security tooling
  • Desirable: Research publications, blog writing, conference presentations, or open-source contributions
