About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the technical delivery of large-scale data platform and business intelligence solutions
Design, implement and own delivery of robust Data Platform and Insight solutions
Work with client business users to identify consulting opportunities
Elicit stakeholder requirements through workshop facilitation
Contribute to technical architecture, design and delivery of modern data and insight platforms
Provide thought leadership on data management and integration recommendations
Design relational and dimensional data models across different data domains and industries
Design and deploy AI solutions for data migration, data modelling, application modernisation and data warehouse migrations
Perform performance tuning and optimisation on data platforms and insight solutions
Manage development lifecycles using source code management tools and AI modernisation techniques
Design and develop customised self-service solutions using Power BI
Provide technical documentation, end-user training and knowledge-transfer services
Collaborate with client stakeholders, Principal Consultants, Practice Leads and Project Managers

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven experience designing, building and modernising Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and analytics platforms
Strong knowledge of data modelling and data warehousing principles, including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema design
Extensive experience with modern cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Platform, or Databricks
Hands-on expertise developing and maintaining data pipelines, dataflows and ETL/ELT frameworks
Advanced SQL and Python development skills for data engineering and analytics solutions
Strong experience with Power BI, including semantic modelling, Power Query, DAX and dashboard development
Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, Git-based source control and deployment automation within data platforms
Strong understanding of data platform performance optimisation, governance, scalability and cost management
Experience working with cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure and/or AWS
Proven ability to engage, consult and influence stakeholders at all levels, translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong consulting and stakeholder management capabilities
Minimum 2 years' experience delivering data warehousing, data platform or business intelligence solutions
Minimum 5+ years' experience developing semantic data models and reporting solutions
Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in computer science, Business, or a related discipline
Desirable: Experience leading large-scale Enterprise Data Warehouse migration programmes
Desirable: Hands-on expertise with Snowflake technologies, including Cortex, Coalesce, Snowflake Data Pipelines and Data Sharing capabilities
Desirable: Hands-on expertise with Databricks, including Lakehouse architecture, Autoloader, Delta Live Tables and Workflows
Desirable: Experience using modern data integration and automation tools such as dbt, Fivetran, Matillion, Coalesce or Azure/Fabric Data Factory
Desirable: Experience with legacy and traditional data warehousing technologies including Oracle, PL/SQL, Unix Scripting, EssBase and Business Objects
Desirable: SnowPro certification
Desirable: Microsoft Azure Data Engineer, Fabric Analytics Engineer, or equivalent cloud data certification
Desirable: Experience delivering solutions within consulting, managed services or Tier 1/Tier 2 service provider environments
Desirable: Experience with data governance, master data management and modern data architecture frameworks
Desirable: Experience mentoring technical teams and providing architectural leadership across data and analytics engagements
