About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure the smooth operation of the supported application systems
Handle service requests and incidents, and analyze and resolve problems
Contribute ideas for system improvements, optimization, and automation of existing applications
Further develop applications based on business, technical, and regulatory requirements
Work closely with other mainframe systems engineers, business analysts, and the end-customer's operations team
Create detailed requirements, specifications, and program code
Test and document program code
Work on projects for insurance companies and banks
Provide support, maintenance, and further development for business-critical applications in a mainframe environment

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 3 years of professional experience
Very good German language skills, at least B2 level
Experience with IBM ISPF, IBM IMS/DC, IBM CICS, IBM RACF, IBM TWS/OPC, IBM RD/z, Compuware FileAid, Compuware Xpediter, and Atlassian JIRA
Experience with IBM Job Control Language (JCL), COBOL, and SQL
Experience with IBM DB2 for z/OS
Experience with z/OS (OS/390 – MVS/XA) and Windows
IBM REXX and PL/I are optional
Strong teamwork and communication skills
