About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • On-site and remote support for school networks and public educational institutions
  • Planning and consulting on IT hardware, operating systems, and network equipment
  • Developing IT concepts
  • Installing, configuring, and administering Windows server environments, including AD DS, DNS, DHCP, RDS, and file and print servers
  • Administering Windows client operating systems, software, NAS systems, backup software, and network infrastructures
  • Supporting LAN, VLAN, WLAN, and WAN environments, as well as peripherals such as printers, digital boards, and interactive whiteboards
  • Analyzing and resolving incidents
  • Independently developing solutions and maintaining documentation
  • Repairing server and client hardware
  • Training teachers in system operation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completed vocational training as an IT specialist for system integration or a comparable qualification; alternatively, career changers with professional experience in a comparable role
  • Initial professional experience in a comparable role
  • Excellent technical knowledge of workplace systems such as PCs, notebooks, tablet PCs, and printers
  • Practical experience troubleshooting Windows operating systems
  • In-depth knowledge of current Microsoft client systems from Windows 10 onward
  • Practical experience with application software from Office 2016 onward, ideally including Microsoft 365
  • At least basic knowledge of ITIL operational processes and experience using a ticketing system
  • Solid knowledge of current Microsoft server systems from 2016 onward is desirable
  • Knowledge of server virtualization with Proxmox or VMware is desirable
  • Basic knowledge of networking technology
  • Fluent German and solid English skills
  • Certification for the MNS+ or iServ educational network is desirable
  • Class B driver's license
