About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review, analyze, and code diagnostic information in patient medical records according to client-specific project guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with ICD-10-CM and DRGs coding guidelines, third-party reimbursement policies, regulations, and accreditation guidelines
  • Maintain a 95% coding accuracy rate
  • Perform other tasks requested by management
  • Translate clinical documentation into precise codes representing patient conditions for risk adjustment and reimbursement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A minimum of 2 years' HCC coding
  • Extensive knowledge of ICD-10
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medical abbreviations, pharmacology, and disease processes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining high quality
  • Ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a remote environment and manage time effectively
  • Working knowledge of computer hardware and software for data processing and security
  • Must commit to 40 hours weekly
  • Ability to work on multiple client projects
  • AHIMA certified credentials (RHIA, RHIT, CCS) or AAPC certified credentials (CPC, CPC-H, COC, CIC, or CRC)
  • CPC-As are accepted only if the candidate also has a CRC
