About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
  • Process legal certification and subpoena requests accurately in accordance with privacy and compliance requirements
  • Receive and process patient health information requests according to company and facility policies
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of privileged information
  • Maintain working knowledge of company and facility software
  • Adhere to company and customer facility codes of conduct and policies
  • Inform the manager about work, site difficulties, and fluctuating volumes
  • Assist with additional duties and responsibilities as required
  • Apply medical privacy regulations consistently to prevent unauthorized disclosure
  • Manage and safeguard patient health records and ensure HIPAA compliance
  • Prepare new patient charts using paper and electronic health record sources
  • Assemble medical records accurately and completely in standard order
  • Create digital images of paperwork for electronic medical records
  • Retrieve and transmit patient records to internal and external requesters
  • Answer inbound and outbound calls
  • Assist with patient walk-ins
  • Handle faxes, mail, data entry, and pickup scheduling as needed
  • Meet site-specific productivity expectations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to commute between locations as needed
  • Able to work overtime during peak seasons when required
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Comfortable utilizing phones, fax machine, printers, and other general office equipment regularly
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills in English
  • This job is not eligible for employment sponsorship
  • Post-offer health screenings and required or applicable vaccinations may apply
  • Experience in a healthcare environment (bonus point)
  • Previous production/metric-based work experience (bonus point)
  • In-person customer service experience (bonus point)
