About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Process release-of-information requests and patient health information according to company and facility policies
  • Safeguard patient privacy, confidentiality, and medical records in compliance with HIPAA
  • Take inbound and outbound calls from patients, insurance companies, and attorneys regarding medical record status
  • Document information across multiple platforms using two computer monitors
  • Maintain working knowledge of company and facility software
  • Inform the manager about work, site difficulties, and fluctuating volumes
  • Manage patient health records and ensure records are accurate and complete
  • Prepare new patient charts using paper and electronic health record sources
  • Assemble medical records in standard order
  • Create digital images of paperwork for electronic medical records
  • Retrieve and appropriately transmit patient records to internal and external requesters
  • Assist with patient walk-ins and administrative duties such as faxes, mail, and data entry
  • Schedule pickups as needed
  • Meet site-specific productivity expectations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to commute between locations as needed
  • Able to work overtime during peak seasons when required
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Comfortable utilizing phones, fax machine, printers, and other general office equipment regularly
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and respond to changing priorities
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to respond to requests in a fast-paced environment
  • Must meet productivity expectations
  • This job is not eligible for employment sponsorship
  • Experience in a healthcare environment is a bonus
  • Previous production/metric-based work experience is a bonus
  • In-person customer service experience is a bonus
