About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. ET during training; after training, the standard schedule is 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
  • Receive and process requests for patient health information according to Company and Facility policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of privileged information
  • Maintain working knowledge of Company and facility software
  • Adhere to Company and Customer facility codes of conduct and policies
  • Inform manager of work, site difficulties, and fluctuating volumes
  • Assist with additional duties and responsibilities as required
  • Apply medical privacy regulations consistently to prevent unauthorized disclosure
  • Manage, safeguard, and ensure HIPAA compliance of patient health records
  • Prepare new patient charts using paper and electronic health record sources
  • Assemble medical records in standard order and ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Create digital images of paperwork for electronic medical records
  • Retrieve and appropriately transmit patient records to internal and external requesters
  • Answer inbound and outbound calls
  • Assist with patient walk-ins
  • Handle faxes, open mail, and perform data entry
  • Meet site-specific productivity expectations
  • Schedule pickups
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to commute between locations as needed
  • Able to work overtime during peak seasons when required
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Comfortable utilizing phones, fax machine, printers, and other general office equipment regularly
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills in English
