About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work Monday-Friday on 8-hour shifts scheduled between 8:00 AM and 5:30 PM EST
- Receive and process requests for patient health information according to Company and Facility policies and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality and security of privileged information
- Maintain working knowledge of Company and facility software
- Adhere to Company and customer facility codes of conduct and policies
- Inform manager of work, site difficulties, and fluctuating volumes
- Assist with additional work duties and responsibilities as required
- Apply medical privacy regulations to prevent unauthorized disclosure
- Manage and safeguard patient health records in compliance with HIPAA standards
- Prepare new patient charts and gather documents from paper sources and/or electronic health records
- Assemble medical records in standard order and ensure accuracy and completeness
- Create digital images of paperwork for storage in electronic medical records
- Respond to internal and external patient-record requests, retrieving and transmitting records appropriately
- Answer inbound and outbound calls
- Assist with patient walk-ins
- Handle faxes, open mail, perform data entry, and schedule pickups as needed
- Meet site-specific productivity expectations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to commute between locations as needed
- Able to work overtime during peak seasons when required
- Basic computer proficiency
- Comfortable utilizing phones, fax machine, printers, and other general office equipment regularly
- Professional verbal and written communication skills in the English language

- Experience in a healthcare environment (bonus point)
- Previous production/metric-based work experience (bonus point)
- In-person customer service experience (bonus point)
- Ability to build relationships with on-site clients and customers (bonus point)
- Comfortable bringing new ideas, process improvement suggestions, and feedback to internal stakeholders (bonus point)
