About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Process release-of-information requests and patient medical record requests accurately and efficiently
- Take inbound and outbound calls from patients, insurance companies, and attorneys and provide medical record status
- Maintain confidentiality, security, and HIPAA compliance for privileged patient information
- Manage patient health records and ensure records are complete, accurate, and assembled in standard order
- Prepare new patient charts using paper and electronic health record sources
- Create digital images of paperwork for electronic medical records
- Retrieve and appropriately transmit patient records to internal and external requesters
- Document information across multiple platforms using two computer monitors
- Maintain working knowledge of company and facility software
- Inform the manager about work, site difficulties, and fluctuating volumes
- Assist with patient walk-ins, faxes, mail handling, data entry, and pickup scheduling as needed
- Meet site-specific productivity expectations
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to commute between locations as needed
- Able to work overtime during peak seasons when required
- Basic computer proficiency
- Comfortable utilizing phones, fax machine, printers, and other general office equipment regularly
- Professional verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong data entry skills
- Detail and quality oriented regarding accurate and compliant medical records information
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and respond to changing priorities
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to respond to requests in a fast-paced environment
- Not eligible for employment sponsorship
- May be required to complete post-offer health screenings and provide or receive vaccinations, subject to applicable exemptions
