About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work Monday-Friday, with 8-hour shifts scheduled between 8:00 AM and 5:30 PM EST
  • Process billing records requests in compliance with HIPAA regulations and client-specific release-of-information requirements
  • Receive and process patient health information requests according to Company and Facility policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of privileged information
  • Maintain working knowledge of Company and facility software
  • Adhere to Company and customer facility codes of conduct and policies
  • Inform manager of work, site difficulties, and fluctuating volumes
  • Manage, safeguard, and ensure compliance of patient health records with HIPAA standards
  • Prepare new patient charts and gather documents from paper sources and/or electronic health records
  • Assemble medical records in standard order and ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Create digital images of paperwork for storage in electronic medical records
  • Retrieve and appropriately transmit patient records to internal and external requesters
  • Answer inbound and outbound calls
  • Assist with patient walk-ins and administrative duties such as faxes, mail, and data entry
  • Meet site-specific productivity expectations
  • Schedule pickups and perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to commute between locations as needed
  • Able to work overtime during peak seasons when required
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Comfortable utilizing phones, fax machine, printers, and other general office equipment regularly
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills in the English language
