About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead secure architecture and design reviews across Datavant’s application portfolio
Review code securely and assess system architectures with development teams
Provide practical security control feedback and risk-management guidance
Own and conduct security and threat-model reviews
Provide expertise on security architecture topics
Lead security-advancement projects as a deep technical expert
Collaborate with teams to ensure project success
Facilitate quarterly planning by prioritizing security-related requests
Advise on architectural feedback, vulnerability remediation, and compliance-control implementation
Write security-control descriptions and process documentation that enable development teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

Hands-on experience developing in multiple programming languages
Strong command of programming and ability to adapt to new technologies
Deep understanding of application and cloud security
Strong understanding of security controls in audit standards and practical application-development environments
Experience with AWS and/or Azure
Ability to balance ideal security with appropriate security for legacy systems
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
6+ years working in architectural and threat modeling review areas
6+ years working with compliance standards
Proficiency leveraging AI tooling to optimize work efficiency and workflows
Knowledge of AI platforms, AI/MCP (Model Context Protocol), and Model Gateways
Experience with security in healthcare or other highly regulated spaces, including HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, PCI, or FedRAMP, is a differentiator
