About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage remediation and emergency response projects, typically related to transportation and commercial releases
- Conduct emergency response activities including initial investigation, real-time remedial planning, retaining and managing subcontractors, cost control, field supervision, and documentation
- Manage contractors in the field during spill response
- Organize and document remediation activities as they progress
- Prepare client and regulatory reports
- Liaise with regulators and other stakeholders
- Engage with clients and participate in business development activities
- Make field decisions with support from head office
- Travel and work periodic evening and weekend hours
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree in Environmental Engineering or Geosciences, or college diploma in Environmental Sciences or related study
- Minimum of two years’ experience within the environmental field
- At least two years of project management experience
- Experience in soil and groundwater remediation projects including delineation, monitoring and management
- Experience with invoicing, budgeting, and other areas of project management
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned region
- Flexible schedule and willingness to work after hours on weekends when required
