About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Gather and analyze financial information, regulatory and litigation histories, and recent news from external corporate and governmental databases
- Work with intake attorneys and reviewing attorneys to evaluate risk management issues related to new clients and matters
- Work with litigation partners to assess financial viability of potential new matters
- Run special searches concerning incoming lateral attorneys, potential mergers, and other special circumstances
- Participate in special projects involving new business intake best practices and risk management initiatives within Information Governance
- Assist the Conflicts team in assessing whether conflicts of interest exist under applicable Rules of Professional Conduct
- Partner with QAC Paralegals to assist Claims Counsel and General Counsel with Litigation Holds, Subpoenas, Protective Orders, and Outside Counsel Guidelines intake
- Perform other research and administrative tasks and support cross-departmental teams as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years’ experience compiling and analyzing risk assessment reports
- Prior experience with corporate risk assessment research and analysis and/or investigative due diligence
- Ability to analyze, cross-reference and summarize findings from third-party proprietary databases and public records
- Bachelor's Degree
- Understanding of KYC/AML requirements
- Ability to read financial statements
- Knowledge of and ability to analyze SEC filings
- Familiarity with current trends in the legal and financial services industries
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, analysis, proofreading and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to contribute ideas for process improvements
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines with expedited turnaround times
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with Intapp and data intake processing software
- Advanced legal or business degree or KYC/AML compliance certification preferred
