About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Undertake and analyze conflicts database searches for new matters involving prospective and existing clients
  • Highlight potential conflict issues for attorneys initiating new clients and matters
  • Assist intake attorneys in clearing potential conflicts through contact with attorneys responsible for prior matters
  • Assist in identifying conflicts of interest
  • Assist in drafting waivers for conflicts waivable under applicable Rules of Professional Conduct
  • Participate in training attorneys and staff on conflict screening and new client/new matter intake processes
  • Run special searches for prior relations of new attorneys, potential mergers, and similar matters
  • Participate in special projects involving new business intake or lateral hire intake
  • Participate in on-call coverage for conflicts checks related to new business intake
  • Assist with administrative tasks and other assigned support

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years prior experience as an attorney conducting conflict analysis in a large law firm environment is highly desirable
  • JD required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of conflict-of-interest rules under the Rule of Professional Conduct required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships with other attorneys to gain confidence in the conflicts analysis and approval process
  • Attention to detail, analysis, and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong customer service skills, including understanding and responding quickly to a variety of inquiries
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
  • Experience with Microsoft Office required
  • Experience with Intapp Open or related products preferred
