About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Model the gold layer with conformed entities for customer, account, project, product, and contract
  • Resolve identity across Salesforce, the console, Stripe, and the billing system
  • Own and version the semantic layer defining metrics consistently for dashboards, notebooks, and agents
  • Build tools, permissions, and MCP surfaces for analyst agents to navigate data safely
  • Add assertions for grain, uniqueness, and cross-system reconciliation, routing issues to named owners
  • Evaluate agent output against known-correct answers and track accuracy, refusal, and confidently-wrong rates
  • Answer real questions from sales, product, and finance while leaving behind reusable models

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Daily, intricate use of AI tools and an AI-native working practice
  • Production-grade SQL and Python experience
  • Experience owning a semantic or metrics layer, such as dbt, Cube, LookML, or equivalent
  • Strong modelling judgment regarding grain, keys, data defects, and business definitions
  • Comfort working in work-in-progress infrastructure without an inherited process
  • Clear writing
  • Experience with usage-based or consumption business models (bonus)
  • Experience with real-time billing and consumption systems (bonus)
  • Experience with lakehouse architectures, including Iceberg, Athena, Trino, or similar (bonus)
  • Contributions to open-source data or AI projects (bonus)
