About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Architect and build complex, user-facing features across DeepL’s translation products
- Build translation-flow interfaces and backend logic for complex document formats including PDF, Word, and PowerPoint
- Preserve document formatting during parsing and translation
- Integrate DeepL into enterprise workflows
- Build consumer-grade interfaces for enterprise localization and collaboration workflows
- Make technical decisions involving state management, API integrations, and performance
- Prototype, measure user friction, and iterate quickly
- Translate complex AI constraints into intuitive user experiences
- Build transparency and performance metrics into the product
- Collaborate with Research, Product, and Design teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong front-end engineering experience
- Full-stack fluency
- Ability to build highly interactive, performant UIs in React
- Ability to design supporting backend logic in Python and C#/.NET Core
- Experience handling large document states
- Experience managing complex terminology rules and Glossaries
- Ability to maintain high browser performance
- Product-first mindset focused on user adoption and reduced friction
- Ability to make technical decisions regarding state management, API integrations, and performance
- Ability to collaborate with Research, Product, and Design teams
- No educational credential or minimum years of experience explicitly required
