About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

  • Serve as the link between application teams and platform teams
  • Advocate best practices and facilitate communication between application development and platform teams
  • Validate solutions and implementations against tasks and business requirements
  • Independently identify and solve business problems
  • Develop small components to address specific challenges
  • Understand how medium-level tasks contribute to overall goals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate components into a cohesive platform
  • Estimate time and effort for medium-sized tasks
  • Assist with project planning and resource allocation
  • Use programming languages and shell scripting appropriately for efficient task execution
  • Own the bridge between application development teams and the production environment
  • Adapt to additional responsibilities as organizational needs evolve

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role, with a focus on system architecture and development
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Google Cloud, and Docker
  • Familiarity with continuous delivery, distributed architectures, systems, everything-as-code, containerization, and cloud services
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Go, or Ansible
  • Basic understanding of shell scripting
  • Proficiency with YAML
  • Experience working on a team following an Agile framework in a remote environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience with security automation and familiarity with API Security, Container Security, and Cloud Security
  • Familiarity with architecture security design, monitoring, and performance instrumentation in a complex enterprise environment
  • Comfort debugging systems and reading/writing code
  • Hold a Top Secret/SCI security clearance or be eligible to apply for a security clearance
  • DoD 8570 IAT II certification
  • Experience with Department of Defense work, specifically a production Authority to Operate (ATO'd) system
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps/DevOps and CI/CD theory
  • Travel expectations: 10%-25%
