About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver best-in-class hospitality experiences and events for trade guests visiting Black Stallion Estate Winery
- Process and calendar hospitality request forms and maintain property trade calendars
- Proactively communicate with Sales teams regarding trade visit priorities, key brands and SKUs, and guest backgrounds and needs
- Develop individualized guest experiences and execute trade events
- Calendar, facilitate, and execute wine tastings, tours, experiences, and wine education activities
- Manage overnight accommodations and reservations for suites or cottages
- Partner with Brand, Sales, and Winemaking teams to create wine showcases and trade education programs
- Execute sales and internal guest visit requests according to hospitality request forms
- Maintain hospitality essentials inventory and replenishment in guest cottages or suites
- Process visit charges and provide receipts and reporting
- Support, coordinate, and host special visits, pourings, events, experiences, and internal meetings
- Develop trade programs, operational improvements, new experiences, and customizations with leadership
- Serve as the primary point of contact for trade guests and build relationships between guests and the winery team
- Act as Event Captain, supervising event staff and ensuring accurate operations and event timelines
- Create and maintain proposals, contracts, event orders, timelines, schematics, vendor contracts, and guest-request details
- Plan, organize, facilitate, and execute private and company-sponsored hospitality events
- Maintain event calendars and secure workforce, equipment, and other event requirements
- Handle phone inquiries, emails, and correspondence for trade, corporate, and private special events
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree is a plus
- Minimum three years of wine or hospitality-related experience in a customer-facing role
- Experience working with or equivalent working knowledge of wine trade
- Wine industry experience and wine knowledge strongly preferred
- Wine education certification is a plus
- Must be 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license, appropriate automobile insurance coverage, and clean driving record
- TIPS certified or certification within 90 days of employment
- California food handler’s certification required
- Working knowledge of the wine industry and culture
- Ability to communicate wine knowledge to all levels of experience
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proactive planning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional active listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service and patience
- Friendly, professional demeanor and appearance
- Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office preferred, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations at a high level of service
- Ability to work in a winery environment, including indoor/outdoor conditions, extended hours, shift rotation, close quarters, and temperature variations
- May need to determine wine color, taste, and smell using eyes, tongue, and nose
- Occasionally able to lift and carry cases of wine
