About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee global translation, subtitle creation, quality control, and distribution of feature films for worldwide cinema releases
  • Set the global operations strategy
  • Manage localization budgets and oversee department Profit and Loss (P&L) statements
  • Manage creation of secure Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs) with timed text files using SMPTE/InterOP standards
  • Partner with film directors, creative heads, and distribution executives to preserve creative intent and cultural nuances during localization
  • Lead global teams across established operations in London, Los Angeles, Seoul, and Tokyo
  • Research AI technologies for subtitling, accessibility, scripting, and censorship/compliance
  • Champion next-generation tools and workflows to improve quality and speed
  • Develop and implement best practices for monitoring quality output and aligning metrics with client expectations
  • Collaborate with executive management and regional heads on process improvements to maximize output and minimize costs
  • Establish project-management best practices supporting quality, on-time delivery, and scalability
  • Represent Deluxe through industry groups and events

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years’ senior leadership experience in Subtitling or Media Localization
  • Deep theatrical experience
  • Curiosity about new technology and the judgment to know where it adds value
  • Ability to design and oversee long-term project roadmaps
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience supervising large-scale projects with local and remote teams on a global scale
  • Ability to identify risks and manage large, complex projects from start to finish, with multiple moving parts and tight deadlines
  • Track record of identifying underlying trends, systemic bottlenecks, and hidden opportunities within complex data or environments
  • Exceptional management and leadership skills demonstrated by previous professional success
  • Ability to engage with and motivate culturally diverse, distributed teams
  • Experience guiding teams through organizational shifts by clearly communicating strategic decisions
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills across all levels
  • Ability to communicate technical workflows and processes to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to identify and communicate business requirements to software development teams
