About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with GM Powertrain products buyers and engineering teams
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the GM portfolio
  • Create and present proposals, quotations, and technical solutions tailored to customer needs
  • Coordinate with DENSO engineering, manufacturing, and logistics to ensure on-time delivery
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes affecting automotive thermal products
  • Assist customers in navigating USMCA requirements and tariff implications
  • Support Tier N Resiliency initiatives and promote manufacturing automation benefits
  • Prepare regular sales forecasts, reports, and performance metrics for management
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams to resolve technical or supply-chain issues
  • Represent DENSO at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings
  • Support and attend regional sales meetings, customer annual sales meetings, trade shows, open houses, lunch & learn meetings, and marketing events
  • Develop and execute sales plans with management; review ranking, pricing, volume strategy, and variance analysis
  • Coordinate communications, marketing tools, and promotions for assigned accounts
  • Negotiate and guide lower-level colleagues on product and related sales and marketing issues with customers
  • Build and maintain internal and external networks to address daily issues and support company goals
  • Coordinate cost-related commercial and business activities; track profitability and pursue value-added opportunities
  • Provide guidance, coach, and oversee lower-level colleagues; provide input into performance evaluations
  • Analyze current processes and systems and implement improvements to sales and marketing efficiency and effectiveness
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience in the automotive industry, preferably with Powertrain products
  • Basic understanding of Tier N Resiliency concepts and manufacturing automation
  • Familiarity with USMCA regulations and tariff structures is a plus
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% for customer visits and events
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Skillful presentation abilities and ability to interpret and explain technical or complex information
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to develop innovative solutions to complex situations
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Competency working with computer software and mainframe applications to manipulate, analyze and reconcile data
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
