About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create, revise, and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks
  • Revise and maintain legacy 2D detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD
  • Develop and modify product labels, label drawings, and associated documentation
  • Generate manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and supporting technical documentation
  • Maintain engineering documentation within SolidWorks PDM with proper revision control and document integrity
  • Support New Product Development through design concepts, prototype documentation, and production-ready drawing packages
  • Process and implement engineering changes through quality and regulatory systems
  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials and product structures
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable, serviceable, and compliant
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Quality, Product Service, suppliers, and manufacturing personnel to resolve design and documentation issues
  • Interface with vendors to obtain technical information, specifications, quotations, and prototype parts
  • Prepare engineering documentation packages for product releases, design changes, and manufacturing support
  • Perform basic tolerance stack-up analyses and support fit, form, and function evaluations
  • Maintain part libraries, design standards, templates, and engineering databases
  • Ensure drawings and documentation comply with company standards, drafting practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Support cross-functional projects and other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate Degree in Drafting, CAD Technology, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, or a related technical field preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of experience creating and maintaining 3D CAD models and engineering drawings in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling, assembly creation, and detailed drawing development
  • Experience in AutoCAD 2D drawing development
  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM or comparable document management systems
  • Experience creating and maintaining engineering drawings, assembly documentation, and Bills of Materials
  • Familiarity with engineering change management and document control processes
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturing principles
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications, sketches, and technical requirements
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T and ANSI Y14.5 standards
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electromechanical components and assemblies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of quality systems, GMP requirements, and ISO 13485 requirements preferred
  • Basic understanding of engineering mathematics, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
  • SolidWorks certification preferred
