About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set up, operate, and tend grinding machines and related tools producing fluted endodontic files
  • Study shop orders, DHRs, and work instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences
  • Set and adjust machine controls according to product specifications using machine-operation and gauging knowledge
  • Activate machine start-up switches to grind, lap, hone, debar, shear, or cut workpieces
  • Observe machine operations and make adjustments to correct problems
  • Adjust machine parameters using the machine touchscreen interface
  • Inspect and measure endodontic files for conformance using gauges or comparators
  • Operate 6–8 CNC Machine Files New Beckhoff (MKNBs)
  • Perform machine Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) at start-up
  • Select machine tooling and changeover details using machine, production, and process-documentation knowledge
  • Mount and position grinding wheels and perform tooling changeovers using hand tools
  • Maintain housekeeping according to 5S and 6S standards
  • Perform other tasks related to the employee’s competence as needed by the company
  • Work Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm–11:00 pm, on the second shift

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred, or combination of work experience and education
  • Technical degree a plus (AS or BS)
  • Minimum of six months to 1 year machine operation experience or equivalent technical work/education experience
  • Six months work experience and/or training on metal machines preferred
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair and maintenance
  • Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust machine controls to exact positioning
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and manufacturing techniques
  • Ability to identify when something is wrong or likely to go wrong
  • Ability to read and interpret procedural documents and safety instructions
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to communicate clearly one-on-one and in small group settings
  • Ability to calculate percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions
  • Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry, manufacturing software, email, and internet applications
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of standing, walking, using hands, reaching, and working near moving mechanical parts
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs seldom with assistance and 10 lbs occasionally
  • Eligibility to work in the country where the position is based
