About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maximize revenue, optimize margin contribution, mitigate risk, and maximize growth across new and existing client business
  • Implement a strategy of commercial excellence across the region
  • Collaborate across brands, functions, and geographies to implement commercial best practices and align with global operations and efficiency goals

  • Ensure governance, compliance, innovation, talent development, and standardized process and tool adoption
  • Lead Client Commercial Leads supporting global and integrated new business pitches
  • Optimize commercial structures and innovative offers for new business
  • Provide executive sponsorship for priority global and integrated clients
  • Manage escalation of commercial issues and advise on proactive client renewals
  • Translate global commercial excellence strategy into a RACI-defined, wave-bound implementation program
  • Optimize people, structure, processes, and technology supporting commercial excellence
  • Develop and manage commercial practitioners and mentor junior team members
  • Establish contract lifecycle management, sales approvals, governance, toolkits, and negotiation frameworks
  • Measure and drive client financial performance
  • Provide senior commercial guidance on key client accounts
  • Establish governance and commercial excellence training across the region
  • Develop and implement commercial policies covering payment terms, liabilities, and indemnities
  • Develop client P&L reporting methodologies, business models, and commercial analyses
  • Define benchmarks, KPIs, and reporting for pricing, client financial performance, and commercial success

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 15+ years’ experience in a commercially focused client finance or accounting role
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in negotiating contracts and service agreements
  • Initiative and ability to manage multiple projects, with strong follow-through skills
  • Strong written and oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Superior organizational abilities and strong attention to detail
  • Advanced project management and customer service skills
  • Relevant track record operating within large, complex global organizations
  • Proven commercial experience within media, creative or data, including staffing, governance, risk management, and financial budgetary aspects
  • Executive-level maturity and ability to collaborate with multiple levels of business and functional leaders
  • Experience in new business responses to client RFPs
  • Experience negotiating innovative commercial constructs and terms
  • Experience building and managing client relationships, commercial negotiations, and account profitability
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization with emphasis on collaboration, influence, and persuasion
  • Ability to recruit, manage, and develop a high-performing team of client-facing, business operation, and transformation experts
