About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients of all ages with acute and chronic illnesses under physician direction
- Provide preventative and therapeutic care, including prenatal care, acute care, chronic illness management, injury care, and trained procedures
- Supervise clinical staff in an ambulatory patient setting
- Perform privileged procedures according to Denver Health clinical privileges documentation
- Travel between mobile clinics and locations across the Denver Metro Area
- Participate in community outreach educational programs, educational activities, and community events
- Participate in clinical education of healthcare students as appropriate
- Refer patients to specialists when needed for further diagnosis or treatment
- Work within mobile health centers serving at-risk populations and community settings
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's Degree required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical care required
- Must be able to work independently and autonomously with minimal, remote physician supervision
- Required APN Advanced Nurse Practitioner license, or PA Physician Assistant license, with applicable certification requirements
- DEA Registration required
- BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
- Knowledge and skill of all privileged procedures outlined in the Denver Health Advanced Practice Provider Ambulatory Care Clinical Privileges documentation
- Computer skills required
- Data entry experience and ability to navigate a variety of electronic medical record systems
- Knowledge of patient rights and laws relative to those rights, such as HIPAA
- Ability to make quick and accurate clinical assessments of mental and behavioral conditions
- Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and social skills
- Ability to coordinate, refer, and manage medical care with internal and external resources
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations and support staff
- Proven ability to ask probing questions and obtain thorough, relevant information
