About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide clinical pediatrics duties as required
  • Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and specialized medical care to infants and children
  • Treat minor illnesses, acute and chronic health problems, and growth and development concerns
  • Examine patients and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Advise patients, parents, guardians, and community members on diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention
  • Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments
  • Collect, record, and maintain patient information
  • Monitor patient conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments
  • Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary
  • Teach residents or medical students about pediatric topics
  • Provide consulting services to other physicians
  • Practice, teach, and lead a pediatric team in an integrated healthcare system

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of an accredited medical school
  • MD-Physician license from the State Medical Board required
  • Passion for working in a public Federally Qualified Health Center setting
  • Ability to deliver care for a diverse patient population
  • Ability to work in a team-based care environment
  • Clinical pediatrics experience and ability to provide primary medical care for infants, children, and adolescents
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test for safety-sensitive positions after a conditional offer
