About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage application processing, compare changes in application data, conduct verification procedures, review award and scholarship program information, and support Verification, Loan and Scholarship team processes
  • Work with Operations and Scholarship teams to review and resolve student eligibility issues and award revisions
  • Develop and incorporate new regulations into processes as needed
  • Communicate with students and outside parties to resolve eligibility and verification issues
  • Respond to student emails and manage cases for Financial Aid Operations and Scholarships
  • Research, resolve, and communicate responses to students
  • Coordinate effective delivery of financial aid funds to students
  • Support reconciliation of institutional, federal, state, and external scholarship, loan, and grant programs across up to three fiscal years in compliance with applicable regulations
  • Report to the Associate Director of Operations and work independently

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree, required
  • Familiarity with student aid programs and student processes, required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with federal or state financial aid programs and administration, preferred
  • Capacity to embrace change and willingness to be flexible in work hours
  • Capacity to work independently, effectively, and under pressure during peak processing
  • Demonstrated communication skills, analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Capacity to spend extensive periods of time either sitting or standing
  • Capacity to spend extensive time viewing monitors
  • Occasional extended hours and/or weekend work required, depending on volume and demand
  • Participation in the administration of federal, state, institutional and private aid with aggregate dollars of programs involved exceeding $500 million annually
