About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Catholic liturgical life on campus
  • Collaborate with St. Vincent de Paul Parish to execute the weekly 5:00 p.m. Sunday Mass during the academic year
  • Plan, organize, and implement liturgical and musical aspects of Baccalaureate Mass, feast day Masses, weekday campus Masses, and communal prayer opportunities
  • Coordinate campus events and maintain supplies for both campus chapels
  • Schedule presiders for weekday Masses
  • Produce or oversee worship aids
  • Lead music rehearsals and train/form liturgical and music ministers
  • Lead weekly student Liturgy Team meetings
  • Plan and prepare Sunday Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, Taizé Prayer, reconciliation services, Stations of the Cross, and other prayer opportunities
  • Respond to requests for special Catholic liturgies or rituals
  • Collaborate with Mission and Ministry colleagues on ecumenical and interfaith prayer services
  • Assist Campus Ministry staff with prayer needs for retreats, Praise and Worship, and Día de los Muertos prayer services
  • Recruit, supervise, and manage liturgical ministers, student liturgy team members, student employees, and professional musicians
  • Delegate and oversee volunteer and employee tasks
  • Perform or coordinate sacristan duties, worship-aid completion, volunteer scheduling, and linen washing
  • Monitor the music and liturgy budget and perform administrative tasks
  • Supervise the student liturgy team, liturgical volunteers, and student employees
  • Help monitor budgets for Catholic liturgical programs and events, including chapel funds and designated Campus Ministry dollars

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or related experience in liturgical life
  • Minimum 2 years experience helping coordinate liturgies at a parish or university setting, preferred
  • Knowledge of or experience with current Catholic liturgical teaching and documents
  • Experience working in interreligious, interfaith, and intercultural contexts strongly preferred
  • Experience working with a budget preferred
  • Practical knowledge and skills within current Catholic sacramental and liturgical life
  • Supervisory skills and ability to manage student leaders, student employees, and parish volunteers
  • Detail-oriented ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously
  • Clear and consistent communication with diverse theological and pastoral positions
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse, multicultural, and multi-religious contexts
  • Collaboration and communication skills with parish staff and university administration, students, faculty, and staff
  • Leadership, administrative, organizational, and networking skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and video conferencing platforms
  • Flexible time management to accommodate campus climate, student schedules, and programming demands
  • Regular Sunday afternoon/evening availability and ability to work weekday evenings
  • Ability to lift/carry chapel furniture and liturgical equipment occasionally
